Chrissie began her advocacy career with a simple blog called 'Battling the OCD Demon'. This platform allowed her to express what living with OCD and the stigma that accompanies mental illness through her eyes. Chrissie also does a series of video's on the different themes of Pure OCD and how they affect her and others.

Chrissie is a trained and sought-after speaker on topics related to lived experience with mental illness, stigma, and suicide prevention. Political Advocacy

Chrissie is an active voice in political legislation for individuals with mental illness in Colorado. She was an integral part in helping to change and create the legislation for SB207, the senate bill banning individuals with mental illness to be held in jails. Chrissie successfully advocated the position of individuals with mental illness to the Government assigned Task Force, the stakeholders on the Commission on Criminal Juvenile Justice, and to the Colorado House and Senate Representatives. SB207 passed unanimously in both branches.

Crisis intervention Team Training, Denver, CO

Chrissie is the lived experience presenter for the Crisis Intervention Team Training for the Denver Sheriff Department. Her detailed account of her battle with OCD, suicide attempt, and stigma has been lauded as one of the highlights of the training.

Chrissie believes there is nothing more real and raw in breaking down stigma than being able to talk about it in-person with no barriers. This is the philosophy she applies to her live facebook videos and youtube video blogs when discussing her lived experience with mental illness and issues related to her journey with OCD.
